Free Water Conservation Workshops

Smart Irrigation Controller – Feb. 3

Smart controllers can prevent irrigation when it rains, apply more water to landscape during unexpected dry spells, and automatically adjust watering to reduce runoff from slopes. The workshop will explain how the new technology can help save on landscape watering. 

Drip Irrigation System – Feb. 17

Whether you plan on installing a drip irrigation system yourself or hiring a professional, this free class will boost your knowledge of what goes into designing and installing a drip irrigation system. The class provides hands-on experience cutting pipe, inserting emitters, and connecting parts and pieces. 

Both workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Historic Town Hall, 22350 S. Ellsworth Road. There is no charge for Town of Queen Creek utility customers, but registration is required. Register by visiting QueenCreek.org/WaterSmart, email ConservetheQC@QueenCreek.org or call 480-358-9455.


Spring Registration Opens Feb. 5

Registration for the Town of Queen Creek’s spring session of recreation classes begins on Monday, Feb. 5 for Town residents and Monday, Feb. 12 for non-residents. 

Registration for all classes is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and is available at the Recreation Annex and online at QueenCreek.org/RecRegistration.

QC's Love Bug Dance – Feb. 9

Celebrate the sweetest season with the Town of Queen Creek at the Valentine’s Day Love Bug Dance. Enjoy a fun event filled with music, crafts, games, a light dinner, and dancing with your little “Love Bug” on Friday, Feb. 9 from 6-8 p.m. at the Recreation Annex.

Pre-registration is required; the cost is $5 per child, $15 for the first adult and $10 per additional adult. The event is open to children ages four through 12. This is not a drop-off event; parents must stay with their children during the event.

Meet Your QC Deputies at Coffee with Cop – Feb. 17

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) District 6 Queen Creek invites residents to come together to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. Coffee with a Cop is a free community event and will be held on Jan. 19 from 9-11 a.m. at Bashas’ located at 23760 S. Free Self-Defense Seminar Hosted by Lim Karate – Feb. 17

The Town’s partner, Lim Karate, is offering two free self-defense seminars on Feb. 17 at the Recreation Annex. The first session will focus on threats women face and will be held at 10 a.m. The second session will focus on general threats and will be held at 10:45 a.m.


Queen Creek State of the Town Address – Feb. 21

Join the Queen Creek Town Council for the 2018 Annual State of the Town. The Town Council will share the Town’s 2017 accomplishments and upcoming projects on Wednesday, Feb. 21. The State of the Town will be presented during the Council meeting at 7 p.m. in the Community Chambers, 20727 E. Civic Parkway.
