Run for the End Zone, Swing for the Fences & Aim for a Hole in One at Queen Creek’s Block Party March 3
Sports-themed activities and entertainment will take over Queen Creek’s Town Center on March 3. The free-to-attend community event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. on Ellsworth Road between Ocotillo and Rittenhouse.
Attendees can participate in a range of fun opportunities including the Barn’s free activity zone featuring 3-on-3 soccer, 4-on-4 hockey and volleyball taking place every half-hour. Mighty Kicks will have plenty of soccer fun for the little ones! Additional activities will be available for a small fee, ranging from $1-$3, including a dual-lane inflatable obstacle course, flag football, ping-pong, putt-putt golf, basketball zone and a bounce house.
Those who’d rather spectate than participate can make their way to the demo stage for karate, sports, yoga and other demonstrations. Grilling competitions will take place at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. with Old Ellsworth Brewing Company’s wing-eating contest at 2 p.m.
Take a time out to enjoy live entertainment with performances by On Opening Night, Garage Academy and the Sugar Skulls youth band, and get a bite from one of the region’s top food trucks and vendors.
“It’s a fantastic time of year to be outside in Arizona, and this event is a great way to get kids off the couch, off the screen and into the sunshine,” stated Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney. “Whether you want your kids to find the perfect sport, or you just want to come out and show your team or community spirit, come down to Queen Creek’s Block Party for a celebration of sports, recreation and staying active.”
If you haven’t signed up for San Tan BBQ’s Grilling Competition or started planning your fan zone area, now is the time, spaces are limited. The count down to the fun on March 3 has begun.
