Fire Chief Ron Knight
Ron Knight brings 33 years of experience in fire service, including 18 years at the chief officer level, to Queen Creek Fire & Medical. Knight served as the Assistant Fire Chief in Administration with the City of Chandler where he was involved with managing a department that doubled in size from 1996 to 2003. During this time, he managed the Emergency Medical Services, Training and Support Services Division as well as the budget and five year capital improvement plan. Additionally, he managed the construction of a new training facility and four fire stations. After retiring, he served as a Deputy Chief in Operations for the Buckeye Fire Department before coming to Queen Creek.
Knight has an A.A. S. degree from Central Arizona College in Emergency Medical Services and is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the Arizona Fire Chiefs Association. Knight has been a resident of Queen Creek since 1989.
Deputy Fire Chief Vance Gray
Vance Gray began his career in 1989 as a firefighter with the Rural Metro Fire Department and was one of the original 20 municipal fire personnel hired when the Town of Gilbert began its own fire department. For the last eight years, Gray has served as an Assistant Fire Chief for Gilbert.
Deputy Chief Gray will provide leadership in planning, organizing and directing the activities of the Operations Division. The Operations Division of the Queen Creek Fire & Medical delivers fire and emergency medical services directly to the citizens of the Town. The division consists of 3 battalion chiefs and 27 captains, engineers, and firefighters. Gray will also assist the Fire Chief with department and regional fire and medical issues.
He has an Associate’s Degree in Fire Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Services Administration. Gray is also a resident of Queen Creek.
