Another round of rain, courtesy of Hurricane Odile, is expected to hit Queen Creek this week starting as early as Tuesday. According to the National Weather Service, this will result in a return of elevated storm chances and the threat for heavy rainfall with the potential for flash flooding.

Sandbags Available
In preparation for the storm, the Town of Queen Creek is offering sandbags to residents. Sandbags are available at the corner of Ellsworth Road and Crewse Lane (across from Founders’ Park and just south of the Dog Park) and at Fire Station 2 on Sossaman Road. Residents will need to bring their own shovels. Sandbags should only be filled 75 percent.

In the case of flash flooding, please remember moving water 2-3 feet deep will carry away most vehicles. Keep away from creeks and washes during heavy rains.
