Citizen Leadership Institute

Mayor Gail Barney, Vice Mayor Julia Wheatley and Council Member Robin Benning attended Queen Creek's Citizen Leadership Institute (CLI) orientation night. The Mayor spoke to the CLI class about the Town's history, leadership and governance.

Queen Creek Chamber's Education Summit

Vice Mayor Julia Wheatley and Council members Dawn Oliphant and Emilena Turley explored the opportunities and challenges in today's education at the Queen Creek Chamber's Education Summit on Oct. 3. Held at the Communiversity at Queen Creek, the Summit brought several community leaders together to discuss different ways education in the community can be improved.

Queen Creek Chamber Annual Business Awards Dinner

It has been an exciting year for business in Queen Creek! Vice Mayor Julia Wheatley and Council members Jeff Brown and Dawn Oliphant attended the Chamber's Annual Business Awards Dinner in mid-September.


 

Council member Benning Appointed as CAG Chair

At the Sept. 23 Central Arizona Governments (CAG) Regional Council meeting, Council Member Robin Benning was appointed as the Chair. The purpose of CAG is to provide effective regional planning for Gila and Pinal counties.

"I am honored to have been appointed as the Chair of this important organization,” shared Council Member Robin Benning. “It is imperative that the residents of Queen Creek that are within Pinal County are represented and that we continue to address regional issues collaboratively."

Between calling pig races, cheering on Queen Creek Fire & Medical and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and interacting with members of the community, Mayor Barney, Vice Mayor Wheatley and Council members Benning and Turley were busy at this year's Founders' Day Festival!
