Trash and recycling services will be impacted by the holidays for residents in Zone 2 and 3:

  • Residents in Zone 2 will be delayed until Thursday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 2

  • Residents in Zone 3 will be delayed until Friday, Dec. 27 and Friday, Jan. 3

  • Bulk Trash- Residents in Zone 1 will be delayed until Thursday, Jan. 2

Queen Creek Approves Agritainment Zoning for the Queen Creek Olive Mill

The Town Council recently approved the Queen Creek Olive Mill’s Agritainment Zoning. The rezone, from R1-43 (Rural Estate District) to Agritainment, was recommended for approval at the Oct. 9 Planning & Zoning Commission meeting and ultimately approved at the Nov. 6 Town Council meeting. 

“We are excited to continue to support our agricultural heritage,” stated Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney. “The Queen Creek Olive Mill is one of our unique agritainment destinations, which now officially has Agritainment Zoning.”

The rezone is consistent with the Agritainment General Plan Land Use designation, included in the 2018 General Plan Update. The designation is intended to offer flexibility and support agriculture-oriented activities. The PAD overlay, a requirement of the Zoning Ordinance, is a planning tool to enable flexibility in design and Town development standards, further supporting an agrarian environment.

The Agritainment PAD allows the Queen Creek Olive Mill to conceptualize future development. While no site plan or building design was included as part of the approval, the conceptual plan includes additional olive groves, restaurant and bottling warehouse, event hall, spa/pool, cider mill and brewery, boutique bed and breakfast, and decorative art walks.

In addition to the Queen Creek Olive Mill, agritainment destinations in Town include Schnepf Farms and Hayden Flour Mill at Sossaman Farms.
