CURRENT STAGE: CONSTRUCTION
Construction Phase: Spring 2019
MCDOT, in partnership with the Towns of Gilbert and Queen Creek, is continuing to move forward with work along the Riggs Road Corridor. Construction completed on the roadway widening between Recker Road and Meridian Road.
These projects consist of a 5-lane roadway with left turns at major intersections. The completion of this corridor shows the traveling public to navigate on Riggs Road from Combs Road to the I-10.
CURRENT TRAFFIC IMPACT
The project from Power to Hawes is under lane restrictions until March 2019. The projects from Ellsworth Road to Meridian Road are closed to traffic and it is anticipated to open July 2019.
Three (3) of the five (5) projects on Riggs Road are complete and open to traffic. These sections include Recker Road to Power Road – Hawes Road to Ellsworth Road – Ellsworth Road to Crismon Road. The section from Power Road to Hawes Road is 90% complete and has a completion date of March 2019. The final section is from Crismon Road to Meridian Road is 50% complete and has a completion date of July 2019.
