CURRENT STAGE: CONSTRUCTION
Scheduled Construction Completion: Spring 2019
The Sonoqui Wash channel extends one mile east from Ellsworth Road to the Crismon Road alignment. There the channel bends southeastward and ends for development to continue. The channel is lined with buried stone riprap protection and hydroseeded natural slopes to soften the ground for the equestrian riders. Wash channelization reduces potential flooding impacts and allows Riggs Road to be extended east of Ellsworth Road.
CURRENT TRAFFIC IMPACT
None at this time.
The cultural resource evaluation and archaeological data recovery work completed for the project discovered some unique features within the Pozos de Sonoqui archaeological site. During construction, an archaeologist monitored the wash excavation for the west half of the project where artifacts were present.
Construction is currently complete. Supplemental tree efforts are underway.
No meetings currently scheduled.
