CURRENT STAGE: DESIGN
Scheduled Design Phase: 2019-2020
Scheduled Construction Phase: Mid-2020
The project consists of design and construction to widen the existing roadway to two lanes in each direction with center left turn lane, curb and gutter, bike lanes, and sidewalks.
CURRENT TRAFFIC IMPACT
60% design plans are currently under staff and utility review for relocation coordination and design. Design will be proceeding to the 90% stage through the early spring. Any identified additional easements and rights-of-way will be acquired through that time. Utility location and identification efforts are underway. Supplemental surveying to gather additional surface data has been taking place.
The Town is scheduling the construction along Chandler Heights Road to occur in two phases. This split staging will help reduce traffic impacts in the area due to other construction that will be occurring on Ocotillo Road between Sossaman and Hawes Roads on a similar schedule. Chandler Heights Road east of Power Road will be constructed first with Chandler Heights Road west of Power and Power Road following in sequence.
A public open house to present the project is scheduled for October 15, 2019 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Founders Room at the Queen Creek Historic Town Hall at 22350 S. Ellsworth Road.
