Town Council celebrated Travel and Tourism Week at the beginning of the month and encouraged people to Visit the QC!
Sprouts Grand Opening
Mayor Gail Barney, Vice Mayor Dawn Oliphant and Council members Jeff Brown and Julia Wheatley attended a sneak peak of the new Sprouts at the QC District on May 3. The following day, Mayor Barney and Council members Craig Barnes, Brown and Wheatley attended the Grand Opening celebration.
Hope Lodge Tour
Vice Mayor Oliphant and Council member Brown toured the Hope Lodge facility that provides temporary lodging for cancer survivors who have to travel and are undergoing chemo and/or radiation treatments. The facility is paid for by America Cancer Society, in part through funds raised by our own Relay For Life Queen Creek.
Canyon State Academy Tour
Vice Mayor Oliphant and Council members Barnes and Emilena Turley took a tour of Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek. Canyon State Academy staff took the group on a wagon ride to tour the campus and were fed breakfast cooked by the students.
Mayor Barney and other Council members kicked off summer at the Second Annual Lemonade Days held at Founders' Park. They squeezed lemonade and enjoyed live country music while relaxing in the sunshine.
Boys and Girls Club Tour
Vice Mayor Oliphant spoke to several Leaders in Training from the Boys and Girls Club on May 26. She answered questions about leadership and how the Town operates.
Allegiant Flight to Sonoma Celebration
Mayor Barney attended the celebration for Allegiant's inaugural flight to Sonoma County at Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport.
