Fire Open House



Council members BarnesBrown and Turley attended the Queen Creek Fire Open House on April 2. The event provides an opportunity to experience life as a firefighter with a variety of activities and demonstrations.

enVision Gateway


Mayor Barney attended the enVision Gateway event hosted by the Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport Authority. The event provided an opportunity to learn about the future of PMGAA in addition to information on the regional economy, water management and infrastructure.

Emergency Training Exercise at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport


Mayor Barney and Council member Brown attended the full-scale emergency response training exercise at the Phoenix Mesa Gateway Airport. The event included a simulated collision that included over 200 people and 15 mutual aid partners. The exercise tested critical first responders, mutual aid, coordination, communications and recovery related to an emergency scenario at the airport.

Operation Prom


Council member Brown attended the Operation Prom event held at the Queen Creek High School. Juniors and seniors observed the response and consequences of a simulated alcohol related vehicular incident. The collaborative effort involved the following partners: Shamrock Towing/FAST Towing, Queen Creek High School drama students, Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 6 – Queen Creek, AMR, PHI/Air Evac, Gilbert Fire and Rescue Department, Bueler Mortuary, the Department of Public Safety, and Judge Sam Goodman of the San Tan Justice Court.

Council members Barnes, Brown and Turley attended the Queen Creek Education Summit hosted by the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce.

Mayor Barney and Council member Brown attended the ASPRA*tion Awards Ceremony with the Queen Creek Unified School District. QCUSD received five awards including an award for the partnership between QCUSD and the Town. Council member Jeff Brown was awarded for his advocacy and support of QCUSD.


Economic Development Summit


Mayor Barney, Vice Mayor Oliphant and Council members Brown and Turley attended the Town's Economic Development Summit. The summit provided a regional perspective as well as information related to the Town's economic development priorities, opportunities for investment, and key projects and programs.
